This section includes major wildland fires, and other related incidents that included tragic results such as loss of life. It is NOT a complete listing - we are adding incidents as we learn of them while doing research. They were often called grass fires, or grass and brush fires, or forest fires. Today they are typically called vegetation fires by the fire service.
