REDUCED TO ASHES
"The Town of Tiburon. Marin County. Destroyed by Fire. San Francisco, November 13th. —Word was received here this evening that the town of Tiburon, located across the bay, eight miles north of San Francisco was burning. The Tiburon Hotel and a number of stores and houses have been destroyed. The fire department is ineffective, and as a heavy wind is blowing, the fire is beyond control. The fire started at 2:30 this afternoon from a defective flu in a restaurant. Among the buildings destroyed were the Tiburon Hotel, Post Office, Corinthian Yacht Club house and a dozen stores and houses. The loss is estimated at $25,000, mostly insured. One hundred and fifty people are rendered homeless."
