Editor's note: The Bleu Baie Tavern was a popular restaurant on the shores of Tomales Bay known for its seafood. The fire and subsequent events tell a fascinating yet complex story. Organized fire protection in rural Marin County during the 1950’s was spartan, at best. However, the outcome of this arson fire was inevitable.
