The History of the Marinship Fire Department, operated by the Bechtel Corporation during World War II. 

The Marinship Fire Department served during World War II, protecting the Marinship facilities that produced 93 cargo and tanker ships for the war effort. What later became Marin City was originally built for worker housing, and was part of the complex until the war ended.
