Who we are - our Mission
"Never Forget"
About Us and This Historical Collection
We are a volunteer committee of the Marin County Fire Chiefs Association, working to locate and preserve historical information about fires and fire departments (FD's) in our County. Marin County is located directly north of San Francisco in Northern California, just across the Golden Gate Bridge and along the Pacific Ocean. One of our highest priorities is to document Fire Department's that no longer exist, before the information is completely lost.
Please help us locate and share stories, information and images about these past FD's or related organizations. Note that this list may be incomplete or incorrect with the official names. We are also conducting video interviews and writing biographies about fire service veterans, usually prioritized by age and health. This is where we are focusing much of our efforts - please join us in this important work!
